Voith is significantly expanding its business in Croatia. You plan to employ more than 80 experts, mainly engineers. What is behind this decision?
Voith Hydro has been successfully operating in Croatia for years, so we can say that we already have a strong presence. Engineers and technical experts from Croatia are already working on international hydropower projects, but now is the time to invest in local operations, which will further connect the top team with the global organization.
We see Croatia as an important engineering hub for the future growth of our global hydropower business, and operational expansion shows how much we value the Croatian team and the role it will play within the global organization.
Why Croatia?
Experience has convinced us that Croatia is an excellent place for engineering talent and expertise in hydropower. We have been impressed by many aspects of the work culture, especially the team’s enthusiasm to leave a lasting mark in energy. Such enthusiasm is highly valued at Voith.
What types of jobs are you currently hiring for?
First and foremost, we are looking for engineers and technical experts. The open positions cover a wide range of areas – mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, automation, software, commissioning, project management, supply chain, quality, and commercial project support. The large range of open positions and the wide array of expertise that future team members bring with them speak to how complex hydropower projects can be.
What skills are important for Voith Hydro?
In addition to technical knowledge, passion for the job and team spirit are equally important to us. At Voith, we encourage people to be curious, take initiative, and collaborate closely with colleagues – regardless of where they are in the world.
Why is this an attractive opportunity for engineers, hydropower experts, and other professionals with a technical background in Croatia?
The international perspective certainly makes this opportunity unique. They can build their careers in Croatia while simultaneously working on large international projects. However, what attracts ambitious experts the most is the technical side of the job.
Hydropower plays a key role in the energy transition; it is often the backbone of renewable energy systems and long-term energy security. This is, therefore, a very technical job that has a clear purpose and lasting impact.
The job itself is extremely satisfying. Our engineers and experts do not perform routine tasks but solve complex problems, develop customized solutions, and contribute to infrastructure projects that will be operational for decades.
Working at Voith is an excellent opportunity for experts who want to deepen their technical expertise, gain international experience, and build a career in an industry that has a future.
What projects and tasks will the new employees work on?
They will work directly on international hydropower projects throughout their entire lifecycle. Depending on the position, this may involve turbines, generators, automation systems, pumps, digital solutions, commissioning, or managing the overall project realization.
