Dreame L50 Ultra AE and Matrix10 Ultra: robotic cleaning taking on an increasing share of the workload

Vacuuming, mopping, cleaning, and drying cloths – with the new generation of robotic vacuum cleaners, there are fewer steps that the user must perform themselves. Dreame L50 Ultra AE and Dreame Matrix10 Ultra approach this goal in different ways, but with the same idea: to adapt cleaning to the actual space and minimize daily maintenance.

In the model Dreame L50 Ultra AE the emphasis is on powerful cleaning and simple daily use. VormaxTM delivers suction power of up to 28,000 Pa for dust, hair, fur, and larger particles on hard floors and carpets, while the TriCut 3.0 brush reduces hair and fur tangling – a detail that is particularly significant in homes with pets.

For edges and corners, Dual Flex Arm technology is responsible. The side brush extends to hard-to-reach places, and the movable cloth can be extended by an additional 40 mm, allowing the robot to clean more easily along baseboards, under cabinets, and in areas where traditional robotic vacuum cleaners often leave a narrow uncleaned strip.

Movement through the space is guided by Smart PathfinderTM, which maps the home and plans the cleaning route. The robot recognizes carpets, increases suction as needed, and lifts the cloths up to 10.5 mm to reduce their contact with the carpet. Through the app, it is possible to set a schedule, choose a cleaning mode, and mark virtual walls and zones to be cleaned or avoided.

The base station takes over what usually remains for the user

A large part of the work after cleaning is taken over by the base station. ThermoHubTM washes the cloths with water up to 100 °C, AceClean DryBoard automatically cleans the washing surface, and after the cycle, the cloths are dried with warm air. The station also empties the dust container, replenishes water, and doses the cleaning solution.

Depending on the conditions and frequency of use, automatic emptying can mean up to 100 days without manual emptying of the bag. The 5,200 mAh battery allows for up to 260 minutes of operation, and 30% faster charging shortens the break between cycles. This data is based on internal laboratory tests by Dreame and comparisons with robotic vacuum cleaner models without fast charging functionality. Charging can be scheduled outside of peak electricity consumption periods.

Matrix10 Ultra: different rooms, different cleaning approaches

Dreame Matrix10 Ultra goes a step further in adapting to individual rooms. Its Multi-MopTM station stores three pairs of cloths and automatically selects the appropriate pair according to the space being cleaned. In the kitchen, it uses cloths with nylon fibers for stubborn greasy stains, in the bathroom, absorbent cloths for excess water, and in other rooms, thermal cloths. Instead of one operating mode for the entire home, cleaning is thus adapted to what each individual room truly requires.

This logic is also followed by the tank for three different solutions: for standard floor cleaning, pet odor removal, and wood surface care. Dual Omni-Scrub uses two rotating cloths at speeds of up to 165 revolutions per minute and adapts to floor irregularities. MopExtendTM brings the cloth closer to the edges, while OmniDirtTM recognizes dirtiness and, when necessary, initiates a re-wash of the cloths and another pass over the floor.

For vacuuming, VormaxTM with suction power of up to 30,000 Pa is responsible. HyperStreamTM Detangling DuoBrush with two brushes reduces hair tangling, while the extendable SideReachTM side brush captures dust along edges and in corners. In practice, this means that strong suction does not rely solely on the central brush but also covers areas where dirt most often accumulates.

Thresholds and low furniture are no longer automatic obstacles

One of the more interesting advantages of the Matrix10 Ultra model is the way it moves through more challenging spaces. ProLeapTM overcomes double obstacles up to 8 cm high and single ones up to 4.2 cm, while Triple-Wheel AgiLiftTM independently adjusts the three wheels to thresholds, different floor surfaces, and carpets. Such transitions in a real home are often a greater challenge than cleaning itself.

For cleaning under low furniture, there is VersaLift navigation with a retractable DToF sensor, allowing the robot’s height to drop to approximately 89 mm. When there is more space, the sensor rises for environmental scanning, and when passing under a bed or sofa, the robot relies on a combination of AI technology, RGB camera, structured 3D light, and LED lighting.

At the end of the cycle, the base station also takes over the main part of maintenance here. ThermoHubTM washes the cloths with water up to 100 °C, AceCleanTM DryBoard cleans the washing surface, and the warm air system dries the cloths and other components. Dust is automatically emptied, water is replenished, and cleaning agents are dosed. The 6,400 mAh battery is designed for longer cycles, and management is possible via the app and voice commands. Matrix10 Ultra also supports video monitoring and Matter connectivity with compatible smart home systems.
