The software division of the Indian tech giant HCLTech, HCLSoftware, is acquiring the Zagreb-based company Robotiq.ai. According to Netokracija, the transaction is valued at nine million euros, and HCL Technologies Austria, a subsidiary of HCLTech, will acquire 100 percent of the shares. The transaction is expected to close in November.
Robotiq.ai is a Zagreb-based tech company founded by Darko Jovišić, Marko Gudelj, and Ivan Belas, registered as Robotic Process Automation d.o.o., which develops a platform for robotic process automation (RPA). Established in 2018, its solutions are primarily aimed at large systems such as banks, insurers, and telecommunications companies. The software automates repetitive administrative tasks and enables the integration of various business systems, including legacy applications that lack appropriate APIs.
Its platform will connect with HCLSoftware’s solution HCL UnO Agentic, designed for managing and orchestrating AI agents and automated business processes.
Before the sale to HCLSoftware, Robotiq.ai went through one investment round. The Czech fund J&T Ventures invested 900 thousand euros in the seed round in May 2021, while the company previously received a smaller pre-seed investment from business angels and 190 thousand euros through the Eurostars program for research and development.
Last year, they concluded with 1.36 million euros in revenue, which is about 38 percent more than the previous year, and they operated with a profit of 170,257 euros, an increase of 241.30 percent compared to 2024.
The Zagreb company has large banks, insurance companies, and telecommunications companies among its clients. HCLSoftware emphasizes that the platform is tailored for application in large systems, with security certificates, activity logging, and the possibility of various implementation models.
“Companies are increasingly moving away from experimenting with artificial intelligence towards automation that can be safely and reliably used in real business operations,” said Kalyan Kumar, president of HCLSoftware, adding that Robotiq.ai’s technology should expand the capabilities of their platform from decision-making to executing specific tasks.
Co-founder and director of Robotiq.ai, Darko Jovišić, stated that joining HCLSoftware will enable the Zagreb company to achieve greater reach and access to the global market, as well as integrate their technology into a broader platform for business process automation.
HCLSoftware operates within HCLTech, one of the largest Indian IT companies, serving over 20,000 organizations, including most companies from the Fortune 100 group and nearly half of the companies on the Fortune 500 list.
