The foundations of today’s ING-GRAD were laid in 1985 when the founder of the Company Branislav Brizar started a construction business. Just three years later, a project significantly directed his professional path – the revitalization and restoration of the Peovica tower, or the Mirabela fortress above Omiš. This was one of his first encounters with a protected cultural asset and, for the then young entrepreneur, a demanding job that taught him how to approach complex projects for which there are no predetermined solutions.

From the business established in 1985, today’s ING-GRAD d.d. has developed, which now ranks among the leading Croatian
construction companies. More than two hundred completed projects testify to the journey from the first construction sites to complex projects in the restoration of cultural heritage, energy, and infrastructure, as well as the construction of business, residential, tourist, and public buildings. Among them are the Church of St. Mark in Zagreb, Justice Square, the Roxanich Winery & Design Hotel, the Student Dormitory in Dubrovnik, the Zelengrad Wind Farm in Obrovac, and many others.

Value is built together

For ING-GRAD, a good project is not just one that is completed on time and according to set requirements; value arises when the expertise of the contractor merges with the trust of the investor and the joint search for the best solution. Long-term relationships with all stakeholders are one of the foundations on which the Company has built its development, and the breadth of projects confirms the importance of quality cooperation in all areas of construction.

Construction for ING-GRAD is therefore not just about executing works but also about responsibility towards the people who will use the space. In the largest and most complex projects, this cooperation extends to other contractors, where the ability to coordinate different experts and partners becomes as important as the execution itself.

People build ING-GRAD

Behind every project are people, and ING-GRAD considers them its greatest strength. Some employees in the Company have worked for more than twenty years, and among them are members of multiple generations of the same families. Such continuity brings experience that is transferred, knowledge that remains within the Company, and relationships that are built over the years.

– My greatest success is my family and the people I work with. Without community, perseverance, and friendship, there is no true growth – emphasizes founder and CEO Branislav Brizar.

What this means in everyday work is best illustrated by the experiences of employees. Among the reasons why they stay at ING-GRAD for decades, they particularly highlight interpersonal relationships, opportunities for advancement, and the chance to pass on their experience and knowledge to younger colleagues. The transfer of knowledge between generations is an important part of the Company’s culture – from the technical part of the job to leading people, coordinating projects, and making decisions on the construction site.

Employees also emphasize the combination of rich experience, continuous learning, and keeping up with the latest technologies. The diversity of projects provides them with opportunities for continuous acquisition of new knowledge and professional development, and the friendships and relationships built outside of everyday work contribute to team cohesion.

Investment begins with people

ING-GRAD does not build the future solely with new projects. The Company collaborates with vocational schools, organizes paid internships, sponsors young people, and opens up employment opportunities for them, while simultaneously investing in digitalization, modernization of equipment, and the development of new knowledge.

Such development is accompanied by business growth. In the last three years, ING-GRAD’s revenues have continuously grown, and in 2025, the Company achieved its best business results to date. The IPO and listing on the Zagreb Stock Exchange opened a new chapter of development and additional space for investors.

Further development of ING-GRAD d.d. sees strengthening existing business segments and new commercial opportunities with a focus on expertise, responsibility, and reliability. Almost four decades after Peovica, the values that directed the Company’s development then remain at its core: knowledge, perseverance, and trust. As Branislav Brizar emphasizes: – The greatest strength of ING-GRAD is not in concrete, steel, or cranes – it is in people.
