Domestic guests in August achieved the largest individual share of overnight stays in the Rudan group facilities, ahead of guests from Germany, Poland, and other important emitting markets. According to group data, Croatian guests accounted for 21.59 percent of total overnight stays in August. Germans had a share of 14 percent, and Poles 10 percent, followed by Czechs, Slovenians, and Austrians.

The domestic market thus retained the leading position it held in the previous two months. In June, Croatian guests accounted for 21 percent of overnight stays, and in July 17 percent.

Croats were also leading in certain facilities of the group. In Sagitti in the Omis area, they achieved 26 percent of overnight stays, while in Pine Beach in Pakoštane their share was 21 percent. In Sagitti, guests from Bosnia and Herzegovina followed them, while in Pine Beach, Slovenians and Germans were next.

Croatia, Germany, and Slovenia together accounted for 43.8 percent of all overnight stays in group facilities.

– In June and July, the largest share of overnight stays was achieved by our domestic guests, with 21 and 17 percent respectively. August confirmed the importance of the domestic market, with a share of 22 percent. Croats retained first place in total overnight stays, and they were also leading in Sagitti and Pine Beach. We are pleased with their trust, especially since we are talking about the peak of the season. For us, this is a very concrete message that the domestic market deserves a strong place in business plans and the development of offerings – emphasizes Roberta Rudan Buršić from the Rudan group.

Rudan’s data fits into the trend of growth in domestic tourism traffic that was also visible last year. According to data from the State Bureau of Statistics mentioned in the statement, domestic tourists in August 2025 in Croatian commercial accommodation achieved 466 thousand arrivals, 4.4 percent more than the previous year, and 2.3 million overnight stays, which was an increase of 2.9 percent.

Biograd na Moru was then the leading destination in terms of overnight stays by domestic tourists, ahead of Crikvenica and Vodice. In hotels and similar accommodation, domestic guests were immediately behind guests from Germany in terms of overnight stays.

Results from Rudan’s facilities show that the domestic market can have a significant share even at the peak of the season, when the presence of foreign guests is traditionally the highest.

– Foreign markets remain extremely important to us, but this result shows how valuable it is to have strong domestic demand. We want Croatian guests to return to us because of the experiences they received and to recommend us to others. It is precisely on such trust that a long-term relationship with the guest is built – says Rudan Buršić.
