Yanna Andronopoulou is the new General Director of Microsoft for Greece, Cyprus, Malta, and the Adriatic region. She will lead the company’s operations in 12 markets and support the private and public sectors in the application of artificial intelligence and cloud technology – for modernizing services, increasing productivity, and enhancing European competitiveness.

In her new, expanded role, Andronopoulou will continue to build Microsoft’s strong local presence and deep market knowledge. Users and partners in the Adriatic region will continue to receive support from existing expert local teams, along with the added advantage of easier access to regional experts, proven practices, and innovations that can accelerate their digital transformation and application of artificial intelligence.

– This is an excellent opportunity to further connect the entire region. I believe that Microsoft has an important role in connecting ecosystem stakeholders – bringing together users, partners, and communities, building trust, and turning good ideas into tangible progress, while quickly transferring knowledge and best practices to other markets. Together, we can strengthen public services, develop more resilient healthcare systems, and support our customers on their journey towards next-generation organizations, the so-called Frontier Firms, which grow with technology and artificial intelligence, adapt to changes, and better serve people – said Yanna Andronopoulou, General Director of Microsoft for Greece, Cyprus, Malta, and the Adriatic region.

Region of Complementary Strengths

The AI-driven transformation in Greece is supported by Microsoft’s largest infrastructure investment in the region – the opening of the Azure region is planned for 2028. Countries in the Adriatic region are rapidly implementing digital modernization programs in both the public and private sectors, while the Microsoft Development Center Serbia provides engineering expertise that is applied globally. Cyprus and Malta contribute to the region with dynamic digital economies and ambitious public sector modernization programs. The new organizational structure will enable easier sharing of knowledge, skill development programs, and successful practices among markets.
