To the public call for co-financing renewable energy sources in family homes, which opened on September 2, about 8,500 applications have been received so far from citizens who requested co-financing for 7,700 photovoltaic power plants and 1,250 heat pumps. Additionally, 1,330 citizens have requested funds for investment in battery systems, the Fund for Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency responded to Lider’s inquiry, stating that the public call, worth 38 million euros, is still open.
It is important to note that co-financing is available to homeowners who have their residence in the property. Up to 50 percent of the investment in one of the renewable energy systems or energy storage systems can be obtained as a non-repayable grant. Photovoltaic power plants are co-financed with up to 6,000 euros, or up to 600 euros per kilowatt of installed power, while for the installation of a heat pump, up to 6,250 euros can be obtained, and for a battery system up to 5,600 euros, or up to 350 euros per kilowatt-hour of capacity.
– Such a large response once again confirms the growing interest of citizens in their own energy production and increasing energy independence of households. Through previous programs, the Fund has already co-financed the installation of about 15,000 photovoltaic power plants across Croatia, and continues to encourage investment in renewable energy sources – stated the Fund for Environmental Protection.
For households at risk of energy poverty, a co-financing rate of 70 percent has been secured. Such users can receive up to 8,750 euros for a heat pump, up to 8,400 euros for a photovoltaic power plant, and up to 7,840 euros for a battery system.
