Rimac Group and Atlantic Group are the most desirable employers in the manufacturing sector – Rimac in non-food and Atlantic in food production, according to a study published on Wednesday by the MojPosao portal.

The Employer of Choice study has been conducted by Alma Career Croatia for 20 years, known for the MojPosao brand, and was carried out among more than 27,000 respondents, revealing where Croatian citizens would most like to build their careers and what employees value most in employers today.

The study is based solely on the perception of respondents and their free choice, where company names were not pre-offered, and respondents had to name three employers of their first choice, with the first choice carrying three points, the second two, and the third one point.

This time, the focus was on the manufacturing sector, where the best-ranked employer in the non-food production segment was Rimac Group, followed by Ina, Končar, Pliva, JGL, Siemens, Belupo, Hospira Zagreb, Vertiv Croatia, and Nexe.

When it comes to food production, Atlantic Group topped the list, followed by Coca-Cola HBC Croatia and Podravka, with Kraš, Ledo plus, Franck, Zagrebačka pivovara, Jamnica plus, Dukat, and TDR following.

Factors of Employer Attractiveness

Respondents identified up to three factors that, in their opinion, most influence the attractiveness of an employer. In both manufacturing activities, the possibility of professional advancement, good interpersonal relationships, job security, and work-life balance stand out.

A good company reputation and a quality relationship between superiors and employees are also important, confirming that employer attractiveness depends not only on the job offered but also on the experience of working within the organization itself, it is stated.

The Importance of Bonuses and Flexible Working Hours

When it comes to benefits that employees desire, bonuses for outstanding achievements and flexible working hours top the list in both observed groups.

Benefits that provide employees with greater security, development, and a better daily life, such as education, additional health services beyond the basic package, and extra vacation days, are also highly rated, with a personal use car being among the more desirable benefits.

At the bottom of the list are referral bonuses, subsidized cultural and sports activities, and organized weekend gatherings, the study showed.
