Office Closure
The company ASSIST is ceasing operations, and Adriano Paolo Marcotulli has been appointed as the liquidator.
According to local media reports, the global company ASSIST DIGITAL COMPANY, known for providing customer support and call center services in Italian, is closing its office in Rijeka. It is estimated that up to 80 people will have to seek new employment.
ASSIST DIGITAL had previously closed call centers in Pula, Zagreb, and Belgrade. The Rijeka office, located in the Scientific and Technological Park Step Ri at the University Campus in Trsat, is the last in the region to close its doors.
The office closure is part of a broader trend in the industry. An increasing number of call centers in Italy and Europe are using artificial intelligence for automated responses, while human operators handle a smaller number of requests. Artificial intelligence was one of the official reasons given to Rijeka employees this week when management representatives from Italy came to Step Ri to inform employees about the center’s closure.
