AikGroup has today signed share purchase agreements aimed at acquiring 613,567 shares of Podravska Banka, which is close to 91.75 percent of its equity capital. Namely, Lider learned in mid-April from two independent sources about the efforts of Belgrade’s Aik Bank, backed by Aleksandar Kostić, to acquire Podravska Banka, and this has now been confirmed.

– This is the second consecutive year of geographical expansion for AikGroup, which represents an exceptional milestone in achieving our group’s strategy. Our goal is to establish a significant presence throughout Southeast Europe, and we continue to pursue this ambition through the acquisition of Podravska Banka. This will be AikGroup’s fourth market in which it operates, and the second in the European Union. We are confident that we will be able to provide top-notch financial services to all client segments in Croatia and, equally importantly, be a reliable partner to the local market in achieving sustainable growth, said Razvan Munteanu, CEO of AikGroup.

AikGroup is a leading financial holding in the Southeast European region, comprising AikBank, AikLeasing, and MV Investment in Serbia, Gorenjska Banka and GB Leasing in Slovenia, and Hipotekarna Banka in Montenegro.

AikGroup is a growth-oriented banking group with over 3,200 employees providing a wide range of relevant financial solutions to all client groups. As of December 31, 2025, AikGroup’s portfolio included over 10 billion euros in total assets, supported by a strong capital base of 1.4 billion euros.

On the other hand, Podravska Banka had total assets of 767 million euros as of December 31, 2025, making it the tenth largest bank in Croatia with a share of total assets of 0.84 percent.
