Bosqar Invest Group announced that its BPTO (Business Process & Technology Outsourcing) vertical Mplus has acquired 51 percent of the shares in the BPTO division of the South African PLP Group, marking the group’s first acquisition in Africa. This was stated in Bosqar’s announcement on the Zagreb Stock Exchange.

As part of the acquisition, Mplus will strengthen its presence in South Africa, Namibia, and Mauritius, while the owner and management of the PLP Group will remain actively involved in the company’s operations.

– This transaction represents an important milestone in our strategy for expansion in Africa. Africa is establishing itself as an attractive BPTO destination, offering a unique combination of developed multilingual competencies, scalable workforce, and cost-effective delivery models that meet the growing needs of our global clients – said Tomislav Glavaš, CEO of Mplus and member of the Management Board of Bosqar, the holding company of Bosqar Invest Group.

Africa as a new BPTO destination for Bosqar Invest

As highlighted in Bosqar’s announcement, the African continent enables the provision of specialized CX and BPTO services, thanks to an increasing number of professionals who speak English and other languages, as well as an ever-developing digital infrastructure and favorable time alignment with Europe.

– We are excited to embark on a partnership with Mplus, a proven BPTO platform with strong operational results. Mplus’s experience in building and scaling high-performance BPTO operations, combined with their strategic vision and implementation capabilities, makes them the ideal partner to support the next phase of PLP’s growth – quoted Bosqar in its announcement Leighton Curda, founder and CEO of PLP.

The PLP Group was founded in 1992, has around 950 employees, and revenues of 13.5 million euros, providing services to clients in the healthcare, fintech, e-commerce, retail, consulting, and FMCG sectors, in Africa, the USA, and Europe.

Mlinar, Panvita, and Bosqar’s appetites in the food sector

Bosqar Invest described itself in its announcement as a European leader in BPTO, Food, and HR industries, managing a portfolio of around 18,000 employees in 23 countries. Its portfolio includes brands such as Mplus, Mlinar, GRAIA, Future Food, Panvita, Manpower SEE, and Workplace. The acquisition of Mlinar was completed by the Bosqar Group in July 2025, and by the end of the year, it secured investments from the EBRD in Mlinar. Previously, in 2024, Bosqar also acquired the Panvita Group.

Bosqar’s entry into the food industry has not gone unnoticed in the domestic public. After Stjepan Orešković from Bosqar announced in the media late last year that the food sector remains of interest to them, it was speculated that Bosqar is the leading candidate to acquire PIK Vrbovec from Fortenova.
