The Croatian technology company Orqa, specialized in FPV drones and unmanned systems, is concluding an investment round worth €12.7 million, entering a new phase of development marked by global expansion and strengthening of production capacities.
International investors are participating in the financing, with the Croatian venture capital fund Aymo Ventures being the first domestic institutional investor to join, as announced on LinkedIn.
The news of the new investment round, which was initially announced for 2026, was also shared by the fund Taiwania Capital, one of the significant Asian investors in the deep-tech sector, confirming the growing international visibility of the Osijek company.
According to Netokracija, the investment round is led by the fund Expedition, specialized in early-stage investments in the European security sector, and alongside the Croatian fund AYMO Ventures and Taiwania Capital, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Taiwania, and Radius Capital also participated.

The new capital will be used by the company for global scaling of production, expanding capacities in the USA and Europe, technological development, strengthening R&D, a new branding strategy, hiring, and potential acquisitions.

Since its establishment in 2018, Orqa has outgrown the startup phase and is now positioned as a scale-up company focused on growth and securing continuous growth capital. The company was founded by Srđan Kovačević, Vlatko Matijević, and Ivan Jelušić, and has developed into a vertically integrated manufacturer of unmanned systems, with all key components produced within the European Union.
The company has so far achieved over €50 million in cumulative revenue with €8.8 million in previously raised capital, confirming the completion of the early development phase.

As previously emphasized by co-founder and CEO Srđan Kovačević, the focus of this investment round was not solely on the amount of capital but on strategic partners who can bring technological knowledge, market access, and operational support alongside financial resources.

A key operational breakthrough was achieved in production when Orqa doubled its capacity to 280,000 drones per year, while through a global distributed manufacturing program, the total capacity was increased to one million drones per year.
Such a model enables faster expansion into strategic markets in the European Union and the USA and reduces risks associated with disruptions in global supply chains.
Additional confirmation of Orqa’s market potential comes from the domestic technology community. Snježana Miliša, the first Croatian engineer of the year and former lead engineer at Rimac Group, publicly highlighted Orqa as one of the most serious candidates for the status of the next Croatian technology unicorn.
Drawing a parallel with Rimac’s development path from 2019, Miliša emphasizes that Orqa possesses the key elements necessary for a global breakthrough: deep technological knowledge, a strong and focused team, and a development strategy that relies on a long-term vision rather than market hype.
