Ina will invest more than tens of millions of euros in two new exploration areas, the largest domestic oil company announced on Friday. In the international tender for the allocation of permits for the exploration and exploitation of hydrocarbons in the Republic of Croatia, Ina received a permit for two new exploration areas: SAVA-10/1 and DRAVA-02/02. The decision on the allocation of exploration areas was made by the Government at a meeting on Thursday.
As explained by Ina, the first exploration phase for both areas will last three years, during which geological and geophysical research will be conducted to confirm the potential for discovering new oil and gas fields. The SAVA-10/1 area covering 1848 km2 is located in the Brod-Posavina, Osijek-Baranja, and mostly in the Vukovar-Srijem County. Five existing production fields (Berak, Cerić, Đeletovci, Ilača, and Privlaka) have been excluded from this exploration area, as well as the area of the abandoned production field Opatovac.
The DRAVA-02/02 area, covering 1732 km2, includes parts of the Koprivnica-Križevci, Bjelovar-Bilogora, and Virovitica-Podravina counties. Nineteen existing production fields, as well as the area of the future production field Severovci and the erased production field Veliki Otok, have been excluded from this exploration area. During the first exploration phase, Ina will conduct 3D seismic recordings and drill exploratory wells.
