The IT company Combis has been granting a free day to each female colleague on the occasion of International Women’s Day for the sixth consecutive year.
‘Our approach to celebrating International Women’s Day is based on the belief that gratitude is best expressed through concrete actions. We want every woman in our company to feel support, understanding, and respect, not just on March 8, but every day of the year,’ said Maja Markulin Klarić, the program’s author and director of the Digital Innovations and Market Development Department at Combis.
Over the six years of implementing the initiative, during which around one hundred female employees receive an additional free day each year, the company has provided its female colleagues with more than 600 free days solely for International Women’s Day.
Continuation of the initiative: support for women in perimenopause
In 2026, the company is expanding the #GetInvolved program to address the needs of women in (peri)menopause, a topic that is still not discussed enough, especially in the business environment.
‘One in four women considers quitting due to menopause. This recent research prompted us to move in this direction. We plan to provide education on this topic and conduct a survey on the needs of women in the workplace so that we can help even more,’ announces Markulin Klarić.
