Strong collaboration is built not on offers, but on relationships

Ten years ago, information and communication technology (ICT) was often viewed as a cost, but today it is increasingly seen as a strategic investment. Cloud, automation, and advanced analytics are becoming the standard, notes Marina Blažević, Executive Director for Business Customers at Telemach. The development of artificial intelligence opens new opportunities but also security challenges. Nevertheless, Blažević believes that in an era of accelerated digital transformation, users are looking for not only technology but also security, reliability, and a partner they can rely on when making important business decisions.

How have you strengthened collaboration with large business customers?

– Strong collaboration is built not on offers, but on relationships. That is why we have worked to build a culture of flexibility, responsibility, and speed within the team. Today, it is no longer enough to deliver a service; it is necessary to understand the broader picture of the customer’s business. Connecting telecommunications services with advanced ICT solutions was a natural step for us because industries no longer operate in silos; everything is interconnected. It is always important to me that we are a partner who listens. We approach each customer with a detailed analysis of their industry, market environment, and long-term goals. Only then do we build solutions: tailored, modular, and scalable. We do not offer ‘one formula for all’; instead, we develop systems that grow with our customers’ businesses. Continuous investments in infrastructure and new ICT solutions are fundamental, but what sets us apart in the long run is proactive communication and a willingness to take responsibility. When a customer knows that behind the system is a team that reacts quickly and thoughtfully, true trust is built.

What advanced business solutions do you offer?

– Our portfolio today encompasses comprehensive ICT solutions, from cloud infrastructure and data centers to advanced cybersecurity and business continuity solutions. However, behind every technology lies the same idea: to enable users to have stable, secure, and long-term sustainable digital business operations. We do not view solutions in isolation but as part of our customers’ broader business strategy. When we talk about digitalization, we talk about process optimization, greater agility, and creating space for growth. That is why we pay great attention to cloud solutions, especially the IaaS (infrastructure as a service) model. Cloud is no longer a question of ‘if’, but ‘how we will strategically utilize it’. For many organizations, this is the foundation of their resilience and competitiveness in the market.

What about security?

– Without security, there is no stable growth. Security is our priority because we are witnessing increasingly complex and sophisticated threats. The development of artificial intelligence further accelerates the dynamics of cyberattacks, which is why system resilience becomes a matter of survival, not just technical protection. That is why we apply a multi-layered security model that includes advanced DDoS protection (distributed denial of service), 24/7 monitoring through the Security Operations Center, early threat detection systems, distributed backups, and clearly defined and tested recovery scenarios. The goal is not only to react to incidents; we must prevent them and ensure business continuity in every scenario. Ultimately, we want to provide users with what may be most valuable to them today: security, stability, and peace along with technology that enables them to grow and achieve long-term sustainability in an increasingly demanding digital environment.

What solutions are most sought after by small, medium, and large companies?

– Regardless of the size of the company, digitalization and security are always important. The difference is mainly in the complexity of needs. Small companies most often seek simple, integrated, and modular solutions that allow them to have a professional ICT infrastructure without large investments. It is extremely important for them to have reliable connectivity, secure cloud services, and support they can rely on. Medium and large companies face a more complex environment: migrations to hybrid or multi-cloud environments, compliance with regulatory frameworks such as the NIS2 directive, advanced security policies, and the need for distributed backups. In large systems, the emphasis is on uncompromising resilience: multi-layered protection, continuous monitoring, and rapid recovery scenarios. Last year, we completed a project in collaboration with the Krka National Park, where we connected our ICT solutions and provided a multimedia and software solution for the needs of the Center and the commendable project ‘Center for Nature Interpretation Krka – the source of life in Kistanje’, which further confirms that the diversity of the ICT portfolio is the key to success.

Why do you place special emphasis on continuous innovation?

– I believe that telecoms today have a greater role than they did ten years ago. We are no longer just technical support; we are the infrastructure that underpins the development of almost all other industries. This responsibility obliges us to continuous innovation. By introducing new technologies, cloud solutions, advanced analytics, and security systems, we promote digital transformation and increase the productivity of companies. In this way, we contribute not only to individual organizations but also to the development of the entire economy. We at Telemach do not wait for changes; we want to anticipate them. Our goal is to enable users to grow and achieve long-term sustainability in an increasingly complex digital environment.
