Consolidated sales of 936 million Swiss francs were achieved by Model Group, which operates in the field of packaging made from solid and corrugated cardboard, representing an 8.6 percent increase compared to 2024. The volume of corrugated cardboard packaging increased by 3.6 percent, setting a new record in the company’s production of 771,100 tons of packaging paper.
In the last five years, Model Group has invested over 748 million Swiss francs in packaging and production plants, of which 36 million francs were invested last year, below the average of previous years. The most investment was made in the completion of the paper mill in Eilenburg in the German state of Saxony. Model Group develops, produces, and supplies high-quality packaging made from solid and corrugated cardboard, ranging from simple transport packaging to highly refined boxes for chocolates and perfumes. The group consists of twelve companies in seven countries, with its main markets being Germany, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Poland, the Benelux region, Austria, France, Slovakia, Croatia, Slovenia, and Hungary.
Significant Production Growth
The company, headquartered in Weinfelden in the canton of Thurgau in Switzerland, employs 4,344 employees (down from 4,349 last year), of which 172 are employed in Croatia.
At its fifteen production sites in Switzerland, Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, and Croatia, Model Group produced nearly 1.42 billion square meters of corrugated cardboard packaging or sheets of corrugated cardboard in 2025, along with the aforementioned 771,000 tons of packaging paper for the production of corrugated cardboard. They consider this a significant increase in the produced quantity of packaging paper by 57 percent compared to the previous year, which is a good result due to the establishment of PM4 in Eilenburg.
