Naturalis is engaged in the production of natural mineral sparkling and still water, functional waters, and water for appliances. The company has been operating since 2002 and is fully privately owned by Croatian interests. Its core mission is to produce a quality and health-compliant product – natural mineral water while meeting high customer demands, effectively utilizing business resources, and continuously developing the quality management and food safety system while implementing measures that ensure the reduction of negative environmental impact.

The bottling plant of Naturalis, where the natural mineral water Cetina is bottled, is located in the heart of the untouched nature of the Dinara Nature Park, in the settlement of Civljane. Care for the quality and safety of water is a fundamental determinant of the company’s operations – the Cetina water bottling plant operates in accordance with the HACCP quality management and food safety system and the IFS Food standard.

Naturalis d.o.o. began the implementation of the ‘Cetina Green’ project (NPOO.C1.1.1.R4-I1.01.0165) on February 1, 2023, which was co-financed by the European Union from the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism – NextGenerationEU. The total value of the project amounted to EUR 1,841,650.36, while the EU’s share in financing was EUR 800,250.33, with Hrvoje Godinić as the project manager. The project was successfully completed on March 1, 2026, in accordance with the provisions of the relevant Grant Agreement.

The project was implemented within the Call for Project Proposal Submissions ‘Support for Enterprises in Transition to Energy and Resource Efficient Economy’, as part of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan 2021 – 2026. The competent authority for component 1. Economy was the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, while the Implementing Body was the Croatian Agency for Small Business, Innovation and Investment (HAMAG-BICRO).

Successful implementation of the project achieved the following specific objectives:

· Increased the company’s capacity for the production and handling of water in the 7 L and 15 L segments

· Reduced electricity consumption per unit of product

· Reduced greenhouse gas emissions during the process

· Enabled more efficient production with reduced waste and errors in the process

· Ensured prerequisites for using lighter PET packaging with a higher share of recyclates (30%)

· Project implemented in accordance with the rules for the implementation of EU projects

· Interested public informed about the implementation and results of the project

In addition to the aforementioned specific objectives, the successful realization of project activities achieved the overall goal of the project: to increase the company’s production capacities by investing in modern, energy and resource-efficient production equipment, with a special emphasis on the water filling segments in 7 L and 15 L packaging, while simultaneously reducing energy consumption and negative environmental impacts.

With the successful completion of the ‘Cetina Green’ project, the purpose of the project was achieved: to initiate the green transformation of the company’s production processes, ensure greater energy efficiency, increase business competitiveness, and strengthen market resilience and long-term sustainability of the company while simultaneously making a significant contribution to the goals of green transition, environmental preservation, and local community development. The ‘Cetina Green’ project builds on the company’s long-standing strategy focused on responsible management of natural resources, the production of high-quality natural mineral water, and continuous investment in modernization and sustainable technologies.

The project was financed by the European Union – NextGenerationEU
