The new round of subscriptions for treasury bills for citizens begins on Monday, December 8, with a targeted nominal amount of a total of 1.6 billion euros, and investments will be possible in quarterly treasury bills, with an annual yield of 2.5 percent, announced the Ministry of Finance.
Citizens will be able to subscribe to treasury bills at Fine branches, through the digital platform e-riznica, and the m-riznica application until December 15 at 11 a.m., which is the deadline for payment of funds in the first round. The next day, December 16, from 9 to 11 a.m., the second round of subscriptions for institutional investors will take place, and the final issuance conditions will also be announced that day.
The issuance date of the treasury bills is December 18, with a maturity date of March 19, 2026. The minimum subscription amount per investor is 1,000 euros, with treasury bills purchased at a discount, making the minimum investment amount actually 993.81 euros.
Thus, citizens will receive one thousand euros for one bill at maturity, which means that on one treasury bill, considering the yield of 2.5 percent, they will be able to earn 6.19 euros.
This issuance of treasury bills also offers the possibility of reinvestment for holders of treasury bills purchased in September 2025. As is already established practice, reinvestment must be carried out during the subscription period in the first round, and not wait for funds from the previous issuance to be credited to their account.
– The reinvestment of the available amount will be carried out automatically, without the need for payment transactions, but the possibility of reinvestment must be utilized during the subscription period of the new issuance, that is, until December 15, 2025, at 11 a.m. This means that citizens who wish to reinvest money in treasury bills do not do so by waiting for payment to their transaction account in the bank and making a new payment, as selecting the ‘reinvestment’ option will automatically carry this out on December 18, 2025, – emphasized the Ministry of Finance.
The right to subscribe in the first round, which begins on Monday, is exclusively for individuals, adult Croatian citizens in Croatia and abroad, as well as foreign citizens residing in Croatia, whereby, as before, one investor can subscribe to only one offer.
In more than two years, this will be the 18th issuance of state securities that citizens can purchase, of which 15 are treasury bills.
