The Croatian Quiz Association, in collaboration with the Zagreb Fair, organized the 11th Team National Quiz Championship at Interliber. The championship gathered 500 participants from all over Croatia, including the “hunters” from Potjera, but the victory was claimed by a brilliant team without a single hunter in their lineup.
Interliber once again hosted the finals of the largest Croatian quiz competition organized by The Croatian Quiz Association in collaboration with Zagreb Fair. At the team national championship, 500 quiz enthusiasts competed in 100 teams from across Croatia. Among the contestants were familiar faces such as the “hunters” from the well-known quiz Potjera – Dean Kotiga, Krešimir Sučević Međeral, Mladen Vukorepa, and Sven Marcelić, as well as director Mario Kovač, lifestyle influencer Domagoj Jakopović Ribafish, and other quiz lovers.
In an unprecedentedly strong competition, the team Crni sljezov kolačić claimed victory, with the team Perlice (which included two “hunters” – Dean and Mladen) finishing in second place, and the team KviZDe (whose member is the “hunter” Sven Marcelić) taking third place. The members of the winning team are Mateja Iveta, Neven Trgovec, Karlo Plazina, Šime Gverić, and Krešimir Štimac.
The victory in the category of “Best Team Under 25” was claimed by the team Skitnice (XV. Gymnasium), which had won the High Five quiz for high schools at Interliber just a few days prior, organized by the same organization.
The best team composed exclusively of female members is ŠtRIge from Rijeka.
The championship consisted of a total of 84 questions, divided into 7 categories with 12 questions from the fields of history, sports and games, science and the physical world, pop culture, high culture, society, and lifestyle.
An additional 42 questions were answered by ten teams that entered the finals.
The best-ranked teams come from various parts of Croatia
The team national championship in the quiz provided valuable prizes for the winners, secured by partners and sponsors including Croatia Records, Forma Fitness, OZ Comics, Vintage Photo Souvenir, VBZ, Tik Tak Bistro, Jazzg, and Red Bull.
“We are particularly pleased that this year’s championship has once again raised the bar. Gathering 500 quiz enthusiasts in 100 teams in one place is proof of how much quiz culture has grown in Croatia. It is especially impressive that teams from different parts of the country have once again reached the top. This shows that knowledge is developed, nurtured, and valued throughout Croatia, and that is the greatest value of such competitions,” stated Petra Lypolt, Vice President of the Croatian Quiz Association.
She added that she especially wants to thank the Zagreb Fair for their support and for providing the venue, as well as the partners and sponsors of the prizes.
