The fire in the Vjesnik building in Zagreb damaged part of the telecommunications equipment Hrvatski Telekom (HT), which has engaged available resources and is taking all necessary actions to enable the uninterrupted use of telecommunications services, HT responded to Hina’s inquiry.
Citizens living in the vicinity of Vjesnik reported on Wednesday that they are experiencing difficulties or have no access to the internet at all, which began after the fire broke out on Monday night and continued into Tuesday and Wednesday.
As the fire, according to new information, has not yet been fully extinguished, and warnings have been issued not to approach the building, traffic in that part of the city is also specially regulated due to the danger, making access to the building difficult or impossible for everyone, including technical service professionals.
HT emphasizes that their telecommunications equipment is located within the Vjesnik building, which has been partially damaged due to the fire.
– As a result, there may be difficulties in using fixed services for a small number of users in that area. We have engaged all available resources and are taking all necessary actions to enable the uninterrupted use of services as soon as possible – HT stated. They apologize to users for the difficulties and inconveniences and thank them for their understanding.
From the telecommunications company A1 Hrvatska, they responded that due to the fire at the Vjesnik building, they have not had and do not have any network outages related to that location, while Telemach Hrvatska also stated that no interruptions in service provision have been recorded on their optical infrastructure and that everything continues to operate normally and as usual.
