The Croatian coast has just become even more attractive for electric vehicle owners – Valamar, in collaboration with E.ON, has installed 37 charging stations in 24 camps and hotels across the Adriatic, making the leading Croatian tourism company an even more appealing destination for ‘electric driving’ enthusiasts.
It is important to note that this is not a small market – according to data from the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA), more than 1.3 million new electric vehicles were registered by September this year, accounting for 16.1 percent of the total market in the EU.
This is indeed a very prominent market that will only grow, which is why more and more companies in the service and tertiary sectors are considering the installation of charging stations to attract this group of people, most of whom have higher purchasing power.
Some studies even show that almost all electric vehicle owners would prefer to choose an apartment or accommodation that has a built-in EV charging station, while more than 80 percent of them would always choose a hospitality facility or shopping center that offers a charging option nearby over those that do not provide such a possibility.
Reliable Partner in the Energy Transition
In Croatia, E.ON has positioned itself as a reliable partner in the energy transition, offering comprehensive solutions for electric vehicle charging stations – from standard 22 kW systems to ultra-fast 1000 kW chargers. Whether it concerns existing infrastructure or new locations, the company’s experts find optimal solutions, taking into account scalability and future system development.
The project is now tailored to the individual needs of Valamar and their guests at four and five-star locations. Centralized management brings simpler planning and monitoring of the operation of charging stations, regardless of where they are located, ensuring better planning of future investments and faster responses to user needs – especially for guests coming from abroad.
The system tracks energy consumption by location, provides insight into the number of users and charging sessions, and thanks to integrated digital solutions, remote support is also available, ensuring that most situations can be resolved without the need for on-site visits.
However, the collaboration between the two companies does not end here. E.ON and Valamar are preparing for next year a project for the installation of a 150 kW DC charger for Pical Resort 5*, Valamar Collection, the most significant project in Croatian tourism worth 200 million euros, with its opening scheduled for spring 2026.
Through a long-standing partnership with Valamar, E.ON actively contributes to the realization of their sustainability strategy, and the previous collaboration has resulted in the contracting of 33 solar power plants, of which 23 have already been built, while 7 are currently under construction, and 3 are still in the design phase.

Generating Passive Income
E.ON’s modern charging systems enable businesses to generate passive income thanks to the E.ON billing and invoicing system. By connecting to international networks, locations become visible to drivers worldwide, bringing more visitors and a higher return on investment, with E.ON taking care of maintenance and technical support.
The E.ON platform thus allows complete control over the charging stations – from managing access via RFID cards, which grant usage rights to specific users, to adjusting the operating hours of the chargers and monitoring statistics in real-time. This is an advanced software solution that E.ON connects directly to the charging stations, providing users and administrators with maximum flexibility and oversight of the entire system.
