United Group Appoints Kim Kyllesbech Larsen as Chief Technology Officer

United Group, a leading provider of telecommunications and media services in Southeast Europe, has appointed Dr. Kim Kyllesbech Larsen as Chief Technology and Information Systems Officer (CTIO), with an official start date of November 1, 2025. Dr. Larsen, an experienced telecommunications expert with over 25 years of international leadership experience, will contribute to the company with his extensive knowledge in planning, building, and managing telecommunications networks worldwide.

Dr. Larsen has held leadership positions at Deutsche Telekom, T-Mobile, and Ooredoo Group, where he led extensive technological transformations, the introduction of 5G networks, and the development of innovative network strategies. He served as CTIO at T-Mobile Netherlands and Magyar Telekom, where, as Chief Director, he led key infrastructure projects such as the transition of IT systems to the cloud, network modernization, and the establishment of T-Infra BV (now part of Cellnex Netherlands). Dr. Larsen was also a key member of the team that managed the sale of Dutch T-Mobile to a private equity fund in 2022.

His proven success in telecommunications technology and ability to lead large transformations will further strengthen our capabilities and support the company’s continued success – stated Stan Miller, Chief Executive Officer of the company.

At Deutsche Telekom, Kim served as Senior Vice President for Technology Economics, Architecture, and Innovation, advising on network strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and investment optimization in Europe and the U.S. At Ooredoo Group, he played a key role in launching the national broadband network of Ooredoo Myanmar and in shaping strategies for 5G and shared networks. As the founder of TechNEconomY and an operating partner at Macquarie Asset Management, Kim advised on investments in telecommunications infrastructure, focusing on optical networks, towers, and next-generation 5G/6G technologies. He also serves on the boards of Tusass A/S (Greenland) and Fiberhost (Poland), focusing on operational excellence and the protection of critical infrastructure.

Dr. Larsen holds a PhD in Physics and a Master’s degree in Physics and Mathematics from Aarhus University (Denmark). He has completed over 50 executive programs in finance, data science, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation at leading institutions, including INSEAD (France), the University of Colorado Boulder (USA), and the University of Oxford (UK).

With this move, United Group further solidifies its position as a leading provider of telecommunications and media services in Southeast Europe, ensuring state-of-the-art technologies and top-notch services for millions of users.
