On the Zagreb Stock Exchange, cautious trading is expected on Monday, which is customary for the start of the week, as investors await news from the domestic and foreign economic scene that could direct the market.

Crobex index rose by 0.84 percent last week, to 3,777 points, while Crobex10 increased by 0.63 percent, to 2,402 points.

Thus, the indexes have recovered part of the losses from the previous two weeks. Among the sector indexes, Crobexindustrija saw the highest increase, by 1.98 percent, while Crobexnutris experienced the largest decline, by 1.29 percent. “Last week’s trading took place in a relatively calm tone, with a slightly positive sentiment, so the indexes rose slightly. The trading volume was lower than a week earlier,” says Duje Lozić, a financial analyst at Erste Bank.

The highest regular trading volume, 1.06 million euros, was recorded last week for the share of Končar, whose price rose by 2.2 percent, to 654 euros. “This week, investors will monitor developments on global stock exchanges, and it will be interesting to see what happens with the share of Žito, given the significant acquisition,” says Duje Lozić.

Last week, Fortenova and Žito Grupa signed a purchase agreement for Zvijezda Plus and Zvijezda Slovenija, whereby Žito acquires a 100 percent stake in these companies, following regulatory approval.

The share of Žito increased by 3.08 percent last week, to 20.1 euros, with a trading volume of 354 thousand euros.
