The popular store for football enthusiasts has received a new, fresh look while retaining its recognizable visual identity and the key emotion that accompanies the football game. In the new interior of FootballMania, designed by SWOODA, a Croatian company specializing in sustainable design, every detail has been carefully considered, from memories of the first concrete playgrounds to modern technological solutions that facilitate customers’ search for the desired equipment, whether they are professionals or enthusiasts.

The use of key motifs that evoke football, such as the center line, goal net, or green color, combined with elements of modern design, aims to transport customers to the heart of the game while enhancing their shopping experience. Segments of a football field have been used as a graphic element throughout the space, creating dynamic patterns on the walls through their multiplication.

In line with the principle of sustainability that guides every step of the SWOODA brand in creating modern spaces, the FootballMania project is based on the integration of sustainable principles into the design and production of store equipment.

– Our goal was to create a solution that is not only visually appealing and functional but also environmentally responsible and adaptable. The elements are designed with flexibility and adaptability in mind, as well as a dynamic presentation of goods. The equipment can be easily disassembled, allowing for reuse, relocation, or recycling at the end of its life cycle – emphasize SWOODA.

A special emphasis has been placed on materials with a low environmental impact. The counters and shelves of the store are made from Polygood panels – 100% recycled plastic, and the final decorative finish is made from recycled refrigerators. In addition to being fully recyclable, the panels have a Cradle to Cradle certification and a low volatile organic compounds (VOC) content. Furthermore, the use of metal components made from partially recycled steel further reduces the carbon footprint.

The fabrics in the wardrobes are made from 70% recycled wool, and elements from the existing store, such as benches and furniture, have been reused in the project, adapted to the new concept to extend the life cycle of existing resources and reduce waste.

Responsible Production and Energy Efficiency

All equipment was produced by Sobočan, in facilities that have TÜV and FSC certifications and are powered by solar energy, which reduces the carbon footprint of the manufacturing process.

For lighting, energy-efficient LED technology with modular reflectors was selected in collaboration with Molto Luce, allowing for the replacement of individual components, light sources, converters, optics, and protective glass, thereby extending the system’s lifespan and simplifying maintenance.

Through the FootballMania project, SWOODA confirms its commitment to spaces where design and sustainability intertwine into a unique experience.
