Young people today live in a world of constant pressures from peers, social media, and an environment that often dictates what is ‘normal’ or ‘cool’. In all of this, they often lack concrete skills: how to say “no”, how to set boundaries, and how to cope with peer pressure. For this reason, the Croatian Association for the Fight Against HIV and Viral Hepatitis (HUHIV) has developed a free mobile application ovisnosti.huhiv.hr that offers support to young people in developing life skills and making healthy decisions in real everyday situations.
– The application is an ally in moments when young people need support, not judgment – explains Davor Dubravić, a psychologist from HUHIV.
Through concrete advice and an interactive approach, the application encourages young people to explore, to ask questions, to recognize the importance of life skills, and to desire to develop them – such as setting boundaries, self-control, critical thinking, flexibility, stress management, and time planning – skills that strengthen self-confidence and security in their own decisions.
– Today, it is truly a skill to say ‘no’. ovisnosti.huhiv.hr gives young people the language, tools, and confidence to recognize for themselves what is beneficial and what is not – emphasized Tomislav Beganović from HUHIV.
