Saša Vasilić is the new CEO of Securitas Croatia, as announced by the security company. He was appointed to this position after Irena Križan took over as CEO in July of this year, and following the latest change, she remains in the two-member Management Board responsible for finance. This completes a wave of changes in the Management Board of Securitas over the past year.

Vasilić is a long-time employee and an experienced professional who has dedicated his entire career to the field of protection and security.

– Saša Vasilić brings over 25 years of experience in the security industry, during which he has led numerous key projects for private companies and institutions. He began his professional journey as a security guard, and thanks to his dedication, knowledge, and leadership skills, he has advanced through numerous roles – from branch manager and key accounts manager to the position of regional director for Croatia – stated Securitas.

Vasilić is also a member of the Croatian Security Guard Association, where he serves as the deputy chairman of the Committee for Critical Infrastructure Protection. Upon his appointment as CEO, he emphasized that his focus is directed towards three key areas: employee development and support, strengthening client relationships, and solidifying Securitas’s leadership position while continuing the process of digital transformation.

– An exciting new chapter lies ahead for Securitas, just before we celebrate our 15th anniversary of successful operations in Croatia – said Vasilić.

Although security guards are the cornerstone of Securitas, the new leader states that the company continuously invests in the development of the latest technologies.

– We are leading the transformation of the industry by combining people, technology, and knowledge, positioning clients at the center of our business. We respond to their security needs with qualified and dedicated personnel, in-depth expertise, and an innovative approach to each of our services. We combine them into comprehensive security solutions at competitive prices, using the latest intelligent technology,” he concluded.

Until just over a year ago, the company was led by Ivan Funčić (CEO) and Management Board members Damir Dobrina (who was responsible for technical security) and Hrvoje Novosel (who was responsible for finance), who joined the company after the acquisition of Tehnomobil. Initially, Hrvoje Novosel voluntarily requested his dismissal at the end of last year, leaving the company and founding his own, and after him, Dobrina also left the Management Board but remained the director of Technical Security.

Following Novosel’s departure, Irena Križan was appointed as the finance director, who was later, after the departure of Ivan Funčić, temporarily appointed as the CEO.

Ivan Funčić amicably parted ways with Securitas in July of this year after a conflict with members of the Supervisory Board regarding the company’s development concept.

– Simply put, cooperation was no longer possible, and we parted ways. That is all I can say – Funčić stated for Lider.

Although the owners of Securitas initially planned for Križan to remain in the position of CEO for a longer period, they evidently concluded after three months that it was necessary to appoint another member of the Management Board, and thus it was decided that Vasilić would become the new president.

Securitas Croatia is part of the global Securitas group, one of the leading global security solutions systems headquartered in Sweden. It entered Croatia in 2011 when it acquired the Zagreb-based Zvonimir security, followed by the Slavonski Brod-based Sigurnost Buzov and the Rijeka-based Protect the following year, and in 2013 it acquired Tehnomobil. Six years later, a single company was formed after the Swedes purchased the remaining minority shares from the old co-owners.

This year marks 15 years of operations in Croatia.
