On October 12, a silver award was presented to the Croatian Pavilion at the World Expo Expo 2025 Osaka, selected by the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) based in Paris.
The Croatian Pavilion was awarded in the competition of joint pavilions in the zone ‘Saving Lives‘ (Saving Lives Zone) for excellence in theme interpretation (‘Theme Development’).
The winners were decided by members of the BIE’s international jury, composed of nine experts from various fields, who visited the pavilions during May and October 2025 before making their final decision.
Official awards are given in several categories, depending on the concept and size of the pavilion – from architecture and landscaping (for independently built pavilions), to exterior design (for modular pavilions), to exhibition design, theme interpretation, and sustainability.
The World Expo Expo 2025 Osaka will take place from April 13 to October 13, 2025, under the overarching theme ‘Designing Future Society for Our Lives’. The host city is Osaka, and the exhibition will be held on the artificial island of Yumeshima, specially prepared for this occasion. More than 160 countries and international organizations will be represented at the Expo, which, according to organizers’ estimates, will attract over 28 million visitors.
