In the area of Zagreb’s Blato, near the Remetinec roundabout, Spar Hrvatska begins construction of a new administrative building covering a total of 14,000 square meters across four above-ground floors. The symbolic start of construction was marked today by the laying of the foundation stone, an honor bestowed upon the directors of Spar Hrvatska Goran Vukelić and David Kovačević, project manager Damir Županić, and HUP’s CEO Irena Weber.
The laying of the foundation stone for this new capital investment by Spar Hrvatska, which will accommodate around 400 employees in modern conditions, occurs just one year after the completion of one of the company’s largest strategic investments near Zagreb – Spar’s logistics center valued at 110 million euros. The investment in the new administrative building will cost the company approximately 30 million euros, with plans for completion in the spring of 2027.
– The construction of Spar Hrvatska’s central building is an important capital project and a new step forward for our business. This investment confirms our long-term commitment to the Croatian market and is a significant milestone after more than twenty years of successful operations in Croatia. For the first time, we are getting our own administrative building. Our goal is to provide employees with the most modern and functional working conditions that promote collaboration, innovation, and satisfaction while adhering to the highest standards of sustainability and energy efficiency – stated Goran Vukelić.
