Jadran – Galenski laboratorij (JGL) has signed an acquisition agreement for Medicuspharma, a company specialized in the distribution of pharmaceutical and medical products, thereby creating conditions for further business expansion in the field of generic drugs and hospital programs, JGL reported on Tuesday, without disclosing the value of the transaction.
Medicuspharma was founded in 1990, and the previous owner and director of Medicuspharma was Miroslav Marić. It is currently unknown whether he will remain in that position.
With this transaction, as stated in the announcement on the Zagreb Stock Exchange, JGL further expands its long-standing cooperation with Medochemie, a global manufacturer of generic drugs, whose hospital program has not been part of JGL’s offering until now.
By integrating the distribution agreements of Medicuspharma with Medochemie, JGL will significantly expand the availability of drugs in the hospital market in Croatia.
– By acquiring Medicuspharma, we are opening new business opportunities in the hospital program segment, further strengthening our position in the generic business in the domestic market. We are confident that this acquisition will contribute to the further growth and development of JGL – stated Dino Ćoza Saršon, Deputy Chair of the JGL Management Board, noting that the value of the transaction is not subject to public disclosure.
