Prime Minister Andrej Plenković announced on Tuesday at the beginning of the Government session that he will bring a ninth package of measures to assist citizens and the economy, worth 175 million euros, and he also commented on Croatia’s readiness to fully supply neighboring countries with oil through Janfa.

– Today we are adopting the ninth package of measures to protect the standard of living of citizens and the competitiveness of the economy, worth a total of 175 million euros. This is the Government’s effort to help our citizens, the economy, and institutions meet all obligations they face regarding energy costs, with targeted assistance for those in greatest need – said Plenković.

Among other things, he mentioned that he appeared on CNN last night in a program hosted by Richard Quest, where he addressed the energy consequences of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and the announcements by U.S. President Donald Trump, who showed readiness to impose stricter sanctions on Russia provided that European countries cease to supply themselves with Russian oil and gas.

– Croatia is ready, with Janfa’s capacities, to fully supply oil refineries in Hungary and Slovakia. Joint tests have been conducted, and Janfa’s capacities are such that we can absolutely ensure all quantities of oil needed for our neighboring countries through the Adriatic oil pipeline, thereby ensuring both energy security and gas supply. This message is important for Croatia’s strategic role in our environment, and we are discussing this topic with both European and American partners – said Plenković.
