Digital Services Expand to Entrepreneurs, New Features from 2026.

Just two weeks after the introduction of the platforms mGrađani and Life Situations, The Ministry of Justice, Administration and Digital Transformation announced that it will soon launch a new project aimed at further reducing administrative burdens on entrepreneurs.

The plan includes an upgrade of the NIAS service for electronic identification of online users of digital services, specifically its expansion to business entities. According to the Ministry’s explanation, the state service NIAS will be available for micro, small, medium, and large entrepreneurs, crafts, agricultural holdings, and civil society organizations for electronic identification and authentication of their users.

– Furthermore, by externalizing NIAS, administrative relief and savings will be enabled for the economy and civil society, improving the quality and availability of e-services to citizens and ensuring cross-border interoperability with the systems of other member states. This project marks the first time in history that a technical state solution is made available for use by the private sector – the Ministry claims.

Entrepreneurs will soon be able to use the state NIAS system for identifying users of their services, which will reduce paperwork and potentially allow for better record-keeping of user data.

In addition, as part of the Shared Services Center, the Ministry is also working on establishing a modern infrastructure for artificial intelligence that will enable institutions to process large amounts of data and develop innovative digital solutions.

The upgrade of the NIAS system will be developed by some state agencies, while public procurement is being conducted for other services. For example, the mGrađani application was developed by Ericsson Nikola Tesla through public procurement, and its development and maintenance cost nearly one million euros, financed from the National Recovery and Resilience Program.

New Developments Only Next Year

Let us remind you that mGrađani users currently have access to about twenty services. For instance, they can apply for graduate study programs, gain insight into court cases, administrative procedures, pension system status, and tax cards, use discounts from the Children’s Card Mudrica, register vehicles, check the status of applications for rights in the event of employer bankruptcy, and gain insight into mandatory fees for business entities.

– After integrating the initial 20 services, further inclusion of public services will follow, with the goal that over time the mobile platform and the mGrađani application will become a unique application that citizens will need to access all public services provided by the state via mobile devices – the Ministry states.

However, they note that not all services will be available on mobile devices, especially those with more complex functionalities.

– In the upcoming period, the development of new complex services is planned, but this is a process that involves collaboration among a larger number of public authorities. New services in the mGrađani mobile application can be expected during 2026 – they add.
