The global cloud communication platform Infobip has surpassed 10 billion delivered RCS messages through its platform, marking a significant step towards a richer, conversational way of exchanging messages.
According to a statement from Infobip, this success has been driven by the substantial growth of RCS and its introduction by Apple at the end of 2024. Following the upgrade to iOS 18, global RCS traffic on Infobip’s platform increased fivefold, while message volume in North America recorded a growth of 1400 percent.
Companies worldwide have adopted RCS messages to enable highly interactive, two-way interactions with users. According to Infobip’s data, there has been a 500 percent year-on-year increase in RCS usage, with brands utilizing RCS alongside SMS to deliver personalized customer experiences.
RCS represents a new generation of secure business messaging, allowing brands to connect with users through text, images, videos, and files within their native SMS application. This enables companies to guide consumers through the entire customer journey, from the initial point to purchase and support.
Samsung Electronics México has adopted RCS as its key channel, demonstrating the impact of advanced messaging. With Infobip’s platform, Samsung has transitioned from transactional SMS notifications to dynamic real-time communication through channels like RCS and WhatsApp.
