Infobip Surpasses 10 Billion Delivered RCS Messages

The global cloud communication platform Infobip has surpassed 10 billion delivered RCS messages through its platform, marking a significant step towards a richer, conversational way of exchanging messages.

According to a statement from Infobip, this success has been driven by the substantial growth of RCS and its introduction by Apple at the end of 2024. Following the upgrade to iOS 18, global RCS traffic on Infobip’s platform increased fivefold, while message volume in North America recorded a growth of 1400 percent.

Companies worldwide have adopted RCS messages to enable highly interactive, two-way interactions with users. According to Infobip’s data, there has been a 500 percent year-on-year increase in RCS usage, with brands utilizing RCS alongside SMS to deliver personalized customer experiences.

RCS represents a new generation of secure business messaging, allowing brands to connect with users through text, images, videos, and files within their native SMS application. This enables companies to guide consumers through the entire customer journey, from the initial point to purchase and support.

Samsung Electronics México has adopted RCS as its key channel, demonstrating the impact of advanced messaging. With Infobip’s platform, Samsung has transitioned from transactional SMS notifications to dynamic real-time communication through channels like RCS and WhatsApp.

Digital customer experiences are crucial for companies as they enable a deep understanding of customers and careful tracking of their entire journey, facilitating access to offers and services while strengthening communication and engagement throughout the customer lifecycle, emphasized David Vigueras, marketing manager at Samsung Electronics México.

– We have noticed very positive results from using channels like WhatsApp and RCS. RCS offers a key difference. Unlike traditional messaging limitations, RCS provides room for creativity, not only in message text but also through rich formats, interactive buttons, and various engagement options. These features allow us to offer users more options that we track in one place, which is a significant advantage, added Vigueras.

– We are witnessing record results as RCS becomes a key channel of choice for companies looking to deliver reliable and personalized messages. Infobip is leading this transformation, and we expect RCS growth to accelerate as more consumers and brands embrace these capabilities, said Craig Selby, director of the RCS department at Infobip.

Additionally, Infobip was the first in the U.S. to launch RCS messaging with all major telecom operators.
