The new round of treasury bill registration for citizens begins on Monday, September 8, with a targeted nominal amount of a total of 1.2 billion euros, and investments will be available in quarterly treasury bills, with an annual yield of 2.6 percent, the Ministry of Finance announced on Thursday. Citizens will be able to register at Fina branches, via the digital platform e-riznica, and the m-riznica application for ‘treasury bills’ until September 15 at 11 a.m., which is the deadline for payment of funds in the first round. The next day, September 16, from 9 to 11 a.m., the second round of registration for institutional investors will take place, and the final issuance conditions will also be announced on that day.
The issuance date of the treasury bills is September 18, with a maturity date of December 18, 2025. The minimum registration amount per investor is one thousand euros, with ‘treasury bills’ purchased at a discount, making the minimum investment amount actually 993.56 euros.
Thus, citizens will receive one thousand euros upon maturity for one bill, which means that on one treasury bill, considering a yield of 2.6 percent, they will be able to earn 6.44 euros. In this issuance of ‘treasury bills’, there is also the possibility of reinvestment for holders of treasury bills registered in June 2025. As is already established practice, reinvestment must be carried out during the registration period in the first round, and not wait for the funds from last year’s issuance to settle in the account.
