The Minister of Justice, Administration, and Digital Transformation Damir Habijan presented the platform mGrađani and the subportal Life Situations, which will enable easier access to public services and accelerate communication between citizens and businesses with public administration. Habijan emphasized that the mGrađani platform and application will allow citizens and businesses to communicate more quickly with public administration and simplify access to public services, funded under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.

On mGrađani information about administrative procedures, tax cards, pension systems…

The mGrađani platform currently contains 20 mobile services, and over time, other public services will be integrated. Habijan pointed out that citizens and businesses will have access to court cases, check statuses and matters in administrative procedures, view tax cards, and verify information about their status in the pension system, as well as access mandatory fees for business entities.

The mobile application will be available for download from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android). The application can be activated in two ways – exclusively through the mobile application (NIAS login) and through the mobile application and computer (QR code). The Minister of Justice also reported that so far, 22,883 users have activated the mGrađani application.

The subportal Life Situations is available on the gov.hr portal

Regarding the subportal Life Situations, he stated that it is available on the gov.hr portal and was realized as part of the project to establish a unified contact center. He emphasized that this is a new functionality of the e-Citizen portal, which allows citizens easier and faster access to all relevant information and services in one place.

Now, citizens will have an overview of the steps they need to take to resolve specific life situations such as purchasing real estate, enrolling in kindergarten, or dealing with a death in the family. So far, 20 of the most common life situations have been published, categorized into six thematic areas: health, citizenship and documents, housing and environment, family and life, education, and traffic and vehicles.

The e-Citizen system has about 2.16 million users

A special novelty is the Chatbot/AI program integrated into the subportal, which guides users step by step through each life situation. Minister Habijan reminded that at the end of June this year, they launched a new upgraded user inbox that allows all citizens and business entities to receive e-mails with legal effect, which includes shipments that require a confirmation of receipt that were previously delivered by mail.

– At this moment, we have 56 institutions sending e-mails. Eight institutions are currently sending such messages with legal effect – he emphasized. He also added that so far, over 29,000 messages with legal effect have been sent through this system.

The Minister of Justice, Administration, and Digital Transformation, Habijan, reminded that the e-Citizen system has been available since 2014 and now has about 2.16 million users.
