The total insurance premiums collected by insurance companies in the first seven months of this year amounted to 1.2 billion euros, which is 8.2 percent higher compared to the same period last year, according to the monthly report of the Croatian Financial Services Supervisory Agency (Hanfa).
In July 2025, there were 14 insurance companies operating in Croatia, and of the total premium collected, 196.2 million euros was related to life insurance premiums, which is 3.4 percent less than in the same period last year, and one billion euros was related to non-life insurance premiums, representing an annual growth of 10.8 percent.
In the structure of collected non-life insurance premiums, the most represented is motor vehicle liability insurance (35.5 percent), followed by road vehicle insurance (19.6 percent), fire and natural disaster insurance (9.3 percent), and health insurance (8.6 percent).
The amount of settled claims in the first seven months of 2025 was 699.2 million euros, which is 7.9 percent less compared to the same period last year. Of this amount, life insurance accounted for 212.5 million euros or 27 percent less on an annual basis, while non-life insurance accounted for 486.7 million euros, which is four percent more compared to the first seven months of 2024.
