Insurance Premiums Collected Amounted to 1.2 Billion Euros in Seven Months

The total insurance premiums collected by insurance companies in the first seven months of this year amounted to 1.2 billion euros, which is 8.2 percent higher compared to the same period last year, according to the monthly report of the Croatian Financial Services Supervisory Agency (Hanfa).

In July 2025, there were 14 insurance companies operating in Croatia, and of the total premium collected, 196.2 million euros was related to life insurance premiums, which is 3.4 percent less than in the same period last year, and one billion euros was related to non-life insurance premiums, representing an annual growth of 10.8 percent.

In the structure of collected non-life insurance premiums, the most represented is motor vehicle liability insurance (35.5 percent), followed by road vehicle insurance (19.6 percent), fire and natural disaster insurance (9.3 percent), and health insurance (8.6 percent).

The amount of settled claims in the first seven months of 2025 was 699.2 million euros, which is 7.9 percent less compared to the same period last year. Of this amount, life insurance accounted for 212.5 million euros or 27 percent less on an annual basis, while non-life insurance accounted for 486.7 million euros, which is four percent more compared to the first seven months of 2024.

In the total amount of settled claims in non-life insurance, motor vehicle liability insurance accounted for 41.3 percent, road vehicle insurance 21.7 percent, health insurance 12.4 percent, and fire and natural disaster insurance 8.6 percent, as stated in Hanfa’s report.

Among insurance companies, the largest market share based on collected premiums is still held by Croatia osiguranje, with a year-on-year premium growth of 10.9 percent, amounting to 315.8 million euros. The market share of Croatia osiguranje increased from 25.2 percent, as it was at the end of July last year, to 25.85 percent at the end of July this year.

The second is Euroherc osiguranje, with a market share of 12.7 percent and a growth in collected premiums of 11.1 percent, amounting to 155.6 million euros. Following is Adriatic osiguranje, with a market share of 12.35 percent and collected premiums of 150.8 million euros, with a growth of 8.3 percent.

Allianz Hrvatska holds the fourth place, with collected premiums increasing by 3.7 percent year-on-year, amounting to 137.1 million euros, with a market share of 11.2 percent.
