The investments are focused on the organic growth of Žito Grupa. Steps are also planned for further growth through acquisitions, stated Jozo Ljubičić, a member of the Management Board of Žito Grupa.
Ljubičić also added that acquisitions are planned, but Žito Grupa did not wish to disclose which companies would be of interest to them.
The statement notes that 10 million euros will be invested in irrigation equipment in crop production to reduce risks from weather conditions, increase yields, and create potential for two harvests in one year. At the same time, Žito plans to invest another 10 million euros in modern agricultural machinery. To increase pig production from the current 175,000 to 265,000 fatteners, they have allocated 30 million euros, while an additional seven million will be set aside to improve animal welfare standards.
