Iločki podrumi, after several challenging years, continue to make significant investments in the renovation and planting of vineyards. Of the total 350 hectares of their own vineyards, approximately 30% has been damaged in recent years due to increasingly frequent weather adversities, which is why investments in renovation and planting are even more significant for the future of Iločki podrumi.

Currently, the planting of 9.1 hectares of new vineyards is underway, further strengthening the foundation of premium wine production in the easternmost part of Croatia. Of the mentioned areas, 5.1 hectares will be co-financed under the call 73.10. Support for investment in primary agricultural production from interventions for Rural Development, while 4 hectares are being planted exclusively with their own funds.

In addition to new plantings, this year Iločki podrumi are also investing in the renovation of 15.7 hectares of old vineyards, also entirely with their own investments. This continuously raises the quality of the vineyards that are key to the production of wine with a recognizable character and terroir.

The main emphasis is on the variety traminac, which rightfully holds the title of the most recognizable wine of Iločki podrumi. Traminac accounts for 65% of this year’s new planting, while the remainder consists of the varieties graševina, chardonnay, rajnski rizling, and cabernet sauvignon, thus preserving the diversity and quality of the offering.

For 2026, the renovation of an additional 25 hectares of vineyards is planned, demonstrating Iločki podrumi’s long-term commitment to quality, sustainability, and the development of the Srijem wine region.

– We are doing everything to provide our varieties with the best possible conditions for growth, thus maintaining and improving the quality of our wines. These investments are not only a response to production needs but also a strategic step towards a long-term sustainable and competitive wine story – stated Antonijo Kraljević, CEO.
