Tax Office Shuts Down for Four Days: JOPPD Forms Can Be Submitted Later

From Thursday, May 8, at 4 PM until Monday, May 12, at 8 AM, electronic services and systems of the Tax Administration will not be available to entrepreneurs and citizens. The reason is planned work on the implementation of the Digital Transformation project, the Tax Administration reports.

As this is an extraordinary circumstance of system unavailability, it is important to emphasize that taxpayers who will be paying salaries and pensions during this period will submit the JOPPD form as soon as the system becomes available. Thus, submitted JOPPD forms will be considered submitted within the legal deadline, the Tax Administration states.

The Ministry of Finance, Tax Administration is implementing the Digital Transformation project of the Tax Administration. The goal of the Project is to build a new information system that will be able to meet the demands of modern digital business and facilitate and make electronic services and systems even more accessible to citizens, entrepreneurs, and other state administration bodies. This project represents the modernization of the complex information system of the Tax Administration, which has been built over the years on an infrastructural platform that, due to its technological limitations, cannot meet the demands of modern digital business.

Below are the electronic services and systems of the Tax Administration that will be unavailable through the eTax and mTax systems:

• services within the eCitizens system
• insight into the status of the tax accounting card and creation of a barcode for electronic payment of tax liabilities
• submission of requests for rebooking and refund of overpaid funds on the tax accounting card and all other requests
• issuance of Certificates
• submission of requests for the issuance of the Tax Card
• registration of business premises for fiscalization
• submission of the Specification of unrelated payments form
• submission of the Corporate Income Tax form
• submission of the Value Added Tax form
• submission of the JOPPD form and all other forms

The Tax Administration asks citizens and entrepreneurs for their understanding and adds that the following systems will operate without interruption:

• Invoice fiscalization system
• Assignment of OIB and retrieval of data from the OIB Registry
