DZS: The average net salary for February was 1,416 euros

The average monthly net salary per employee in legal entities for February of this year amounted to 1,416 euros, which is real 9.5% and nominally 13.5% higher than in the same month last year, according to data from the State Bureau of Statistics (DZS) published on Tuesday. Compared to the salary for January of this year, the average net salary for February was nominally higher by 1.7% and real by 1.8%.

The highest average monthly net salary was paid in the production of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations, 3,624 euros, while the lowest was in the clothing manufacturing sector, at 920 euros. According to the DZS report, the median net salary for February was 1,175 euros, which means that half of the employees earned less and half earned more than this amount. At the same time, the net median salary decreased by 2.1% compared to January 2025, while it increased by 12.5% compared to the same month of the previous year.

The average monthly gross salary per employee in legal entities for February amounted to 1,964 euros, which is nominally 2% higher and real 2.1% higher compared to January of this year. On an annual basis, the average gross salary was nominally 14.9% higher and real 10.8% higher. As with net salaries, the highest average monthly gross salary for February 2025 was in pharmaceutical production, at 5,741 euros, while the lowest was in clothing manufacturing, at 1,203 euros.

In the first two months of this year, the average monthly paid net salary per employee in legal entities amounted to 1,404 euros, which is nominally 13% higher and real 8.9% higher compared to the same period last year. At the same time, the average monthly gross salary amounted to 1,945 euros, which is nominally 14.2% higher and real 10% higher compared to the same period last year.

In February 2025, there were an average of 157 paid hours, which is 13.7% less compared to January of this year. The highest number of paid hours was in auxiliary service activities in mining (171), while the lowest was in services related to the management and maintenance of buildings and landscaping services (141). The average monthly paid net salary per hour for February was 8.72 euros, which is 16.4% higher compared to January and 19% higher compared to February of last year, according to DZS data.
