The Republic of Croatia is presenting itself at this year’s World Expo EXPO 2025 Osaka with a national pavilion titled ‘Croatia – climadiversity’, which showcases a unique technological and artistic interpretation of Croatia’s climate diversity.
The pavilion is designed as an immersive environment that continuously changes based on real-time weather data from Croatia, providing a new experience with each visit. Thermal cameras will capture visitor interactions with microclimates within the pavilion, while live thermal images from weather stations across Croatia will be broadcast, adjusted for the time difference between Croatia and Japan. The broadcasts will be displayed in the pavilion, as well as on the website and social media.
The authors of the pavilion’s conceptual design are Lana Grahek, Maroje Mrduljaš, Antonio Patljak, Korina Vuković, and Pero Vuković, along with the company Enison. The National Commissioner of the Republic of Croatia for EXPO 2025 and State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, Zdenko Lucić, along with the author team, presented the pavilion to the public on February 7, 2025.
The World Expo Expo 2025 Osaka is taking place from April 13 to October 13, 2025, on the artificially constructed island of Yumeshima, under the overarching theme ‘Designing Future Society for Our Lives’. With the participation of 158 countries and 7 international organizations, this year’s World Expo Expo 2025 Osaka is expected to attract more than 28 million visitors.
