The value of Croatian goods exports reached nearly four billion euros in the first two months of this year, which is 9.5 percent higher than in the same period last year, while imports increased by 8.6 percent to 6.8 billion euros, according to the first data released today by the Croatian Bureau of Statistics (DZS).
At the same time, the foreign trade deficit amounted to 2.9 billion euros, while the coverage of imports by exports was 58 percent. According to DZS data, goods worth 2.6 billion euros were exported to EU member states in the first two months, which is 7.3 percent more compared to the same period last year, while exports to non-EU countries increased by 14.1 percent to 1.4 billion euros.
Imports from EU member states increased by 2.2 percent year-on-year in the first two months of this year, reaching 5.2 billion euros, while imports from non-member countries amounted to 1.6 billion euros, representing a growth of 37.2 percent.
DZS also published preliminary data on trade exchange for January 2025. Total exports amounted to 1.9 billion euros, which is 11.4 percent higher than in January last year, while imports increased by 11.5 percent to 3.3 billion euros. Thus, the foreign trade deficit amounted to 1.4 billion euros, while the coverage of imports by exports was 58.4 percent.
