Thanks to a PR release from Jysk, we learned that of all the cities in the world, tourists sleep best in Split. Split was declared the best sleeping destination in the world a few weeks ago in a study by Kayak, a leading global platform for travel search and planning.
Kayak’s research on the best global sleeping destinations assessed air quality, noise pollution, political stability, general safety, and the number of accommodation units with a spa area. Among the 250 analyzed tourist destinations, Split was the only one to score a perfect hundred points based on these criteria. The majority of points were awarded to Split due to the perception of safety in the city and its political stability. The study also included the average price of an overnight stay in a standard double room, which in Split amounts to $183, although this data was not one of the criteria for compiling the list.
The next city on the list, Canadian Canmore, scored less than 90 points, while the last on the list, Cabo San Lucas in Mexico, only received 25.8 points.
Among Croatian tourist destinations on Kayak’s list, there is only Dubrovnik, which, with a total of 66.4 points, found itself in a respectable 44th place, although it shares the same number of points for political stability and perception of safety as Split. However, according to Kayak’s research, the number of accommodation units with a spa area is lower than in Split, air quality and noise levels in Dubrovnik are considerably higher than in Split, and the average price of an overnight stay is also higher, amounting to $217.
