How much did Entrio earn from ticket sales for Thompson’s concert?

The record number of tickets sold for the concert of singer Marko Perković Thompson at the Hippodrome in July continues to be a topic of discussion even a week later, and in recent days, speculation has arisen about how much the platform Entrio earned from it. For each of 281,774 tickets sold, Entrio charged a commission to the concert organizers on one side, and a fee for issuing tickets to customers on the other. The exact commissions for organizers and customers per ticket sold, as well as the total earnings from Thompson’s concert for Entrio, have not yet been disclosed.

—– The details of the financial agreements between the organizers and Entrio are confidential and we cannot share them. However, we can say that the amounts mentioned on various portals are not accurate – noted Sonja Marszalek, people & culture director at Entrio, referring to estimates that Entrio earned around 1.43 million euros thanks to Thompson.

However, due to the immense interest, it is reasonable to assume that such success will spill over into other segments of Entrio’s business and the sellout of other tickets. Consequently, Entrio’s revenues and profits will be even greater. Nevertheless, Marszalek emphasized that the costs of such large projects are extremely high.

– Large events like this can certainly contribute to our overall results and the perception of both organizers and customers. Thompson’s concert at the Hippodrome, as the best-selling concert in the world, will further accelerate Entrio’s international growth and development and confirm our positive image and strength with the largest international organizers – explains Marszalek.

Test for technology and team

For Entrio, which partnered with the platform Ulaznice.hr at the end of last year, specifically the company Dekod behind it, and received a financial injection of nine million euros from the Invera Equity Partners fund, this concert was a kind of test for technology and team. Despite the high traffic (tickets sold out in less than 24 hours), Entrio’s website remained operational throughout, which is a challenge even for large global ticketing platforms like Ticketmaster. Several attempts of hacking attacks were also successfully thwarted.

– The system was operational the entire time, although there were minor technical difficulties that we resolved very quickly. Additionally, we simultaneously responded to thousands of customer inquiries via email and social media and maintained constant contact with our network of sales points. All of this occurred while tickets for other events were also being sold in the system at the same time. What made the difference was our excellent team of 14 people – believes Marszalek.

Entrio was founded in 2011 by Sonja’s husband Berislav Marszalek, and the couple described last year in a Lider podcast how long, extensive, and demanding the process of Invera Equity Partners entering the ownership structure was. It was also the largest investment in the ticketing industry in Southeast Europe to date.

In 2023, Entrio reported revenues of 1.7 million euros and a profit of 250 thousand euros, according to publicly available data.
