Croatia Will Be Directly Connected to 122 Foreign Cities This Summer

According to initial data collected by the Croatian National Tourist Board (HTZ) from Croatian airports, during the summer flight season, from the end of March to the end of October, Croatia will be connected to 122 foreign cities.

The most flights are expected from London, Frankfurt, Munich, and Vienna.

This year’s summer flight schedule is expected to include 485 flight routes in domestic and international traffic, with an anticipated increase in passenger aircraft operations of about two percent compared to last year’s summer flight schedule.

During the summer flight season, direct connections from Croatia to 42 countries are expected—mainly from Europe, while connections to destinations on other continents are planned for the USA, Canada, Korea, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates.

Almost all airports expect an increase in traffic, with the highest number of passenger aircraft operations planned for the airports in Zagreb, Split, and Dubrovnik. Looking at the emitting markets, the largest number of passenger aircraft operations is planned towards Germany, the UK, France, Italy, and Poland.

Individual airports with the highest expected operations on routes to Croatia are Munich-Franz Josef Strauss, Frankfurt/Main-Frankfurt Airport, Vienna-Vienna International, Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, and London-Gatwick.

Overall, during the summer flight season, 54 airlines will operate on routes between Croatia and abroad, with the carriers expecting the most rotations on domestic and foreign lines being Croatia Airlines, Ryanair, Easyjet, Eurowings, and Lufthansa. For example, Ryanair will connect Croatian airports with more than 60 cities in Europe this summer season, while Croatia Airlines will connect with more than 30.

The Croatian National Tourist Board notes that these are announcements, and changes to the provided information are possible.

“Air traffic is extremely important for achieving positive results in Croatian tourism, especially when we talk about demand from markets geographically distant from Croatia. Our goal is to improve air connectivity with foreign countries every year, which is particularly significant for our southern destinations, which are more dependent on air transport, and in the context of achieving the strategic goal of strengthening pre- and post-season tourist traffic,” said Kristjan Staničić, director of the Croatian National Tourist Board.

According to him, HTZ has allocated more than three million euros this year for strategic partnerships, including collaborations with airlines.
