McDonald’s Confirms HR Quality for Employer Partner Certificate

McDonald’s Croatia has acquired the Employer Partner certificate, awarded by SELECTIO Group, a leading Croatian group specialized in human resources consulting, with a mission to promote high-quality HR systems. The Employer Partner project has indeed accelerated the introduction of desirable HR practices in the Croatian market, and in recent years has had a significant impact on several neighboring countries. Over 19 years, the project has conducted 20,000 evaluations of HR systems, which is why SELECTIO experts today have in-depth insights into all types of organizations.

Creating a Supportive Work Environment

The HR system evaluation conducted by Employer Partner is unique as it simultaneously considers two key perspectives – the employer’s and the employee’s perspective. Involving employees in shaping and maintaining quality working conditions is an essential step towards their well-being. McDonald’s Croatia regularly conducts engagement and organizational climate surveys and records a high response rate. The results obtained do not remain just on paper, but are accompanied by concrete action plans. Additionally, the company actively encourages employees to recommend candidates for open positions and rewards them for doing so. In this way, it builds an organizational culture in which employees feel valued and connected.

Opportunities for Development and Maintaining a Balance Between Personal and Professional Obligations

McDonald’s offers students development opportunities, allowing them to participate in business improvement and access scholarships. Aware of the challenges students face in balancing work and personal obligations, last year they decided to support 29 deserving students with scholarships that assist them in their professional and academic advancement.

For all employees, the company provides a transparent promotion system, recognizing and rewarding exceptional effort. With clearly defined criteria, they have also implemented a reward system that includes various types of rewards. Last year, all employees received raises and bonuses as a result of their work. McDonald’s continuously listens to employee feedback on work benefits and strives to implement changes. In addition to material and non-material benefits, flexible working arrangements are available to employees, allowing them to adjust their working hours to their own obligations. Adjusting working hours makes it easier for employees to balance their personal and professional lives and contributes to their well-being.

– We are extremely proud that our work and effort in the field of human resources has been recognized this year with the awarding of the Employer Partner certificate. We are particularly pleased to see our employees progress and take on increasingly responsible roles within the company. This sense of pride in their development motivates us to continue listening to their needs, supporting their work, and continuously improving our practices to enable them to reach their full potential – said Mario Jušić, Head of the Human Resources Department at McDonald’s Croatia during the certificate award ceremony.

The Employer Partner certificate is awarded for the excellence of the entire HR system, which means that McDonald’s Croatia had to demonstrate the connection, purposefulness, and quality of HR processes applied throughout the organization at all levels. Companies that participate in the project and renew their Employer Partner status each year demonstrate a commitment to the long-term improvement of employee well-being, dedication to their growth and development, and the enhancement of organizational culture as a whole. For this reason, the Employer Partner label communicates the quality of the workplace, and in addition to Croatia, the label is also used by certificate holders in the regional market.
