GreenWay, a pioneering company in the electric vehicle charging station industry, is pleased to announce a significant new investment from Mirova, a subsidiary of Natixis Investment Managers dedicated to sustainable investment. With an equity investment exceeding €50 million, Mirova will become the largest shareholder of GreenWay Holding. This decision by Mirova confirms their confidence in GreenWay’s long-term vision and strategic direction.

Although the development of electromobility in Europe has slowed in 2024, fundamental technological and market trends provide strong support for positive long-term prospects for the electric vehicle (EV) charging industry.

In this context, GreenWay has sought to partner with an investor who could provide strong, long-term support for consolidating the company’s position as a leader in Central Europe.

Through its expertise in infrastructure solutions for energy transition, Mirova aims to empower institutional clients by providing them with opportunities for long-term value while simultaneously supporting the decarbonization of developed economies. With over 20 years of experience in energy transition funds, their investment team combines industry knowledge with thorough ESG analysis and a proven understanding of the electric vehicle charging sector. Together with GreenWay, they share the belief that the electrification of transport is a key pillar of the energy transition and recognize the strong fundamentals supporting the electric vehicle industry, offering promising long-term prospects for the charging sector.

GreenWay is Mirova’s fifth investment in the low-carbon mobility sector, following Driveco, Zunder, JET Charge, and NEoT Green Mobility, confirming their deep understanding of this sector.

– “We are pleased to collaborate with GreenWay to support the transition to low-carbon mobility in Central Europe. GreenWay’s proven success and experience align well with our strategy to support leading specialized companies with demonstrated operational success and deep market understanding,” said Witold Marais, investment director at Mirova.

– “The management, with strong support from all shareholders, will continue to implement GreenWay’s strategy in our three key markets. We will do our utmost to ensure the continued transition to electric vehicles in our region. This will be our small contribution to the European industrial policy on energy transition, which is the best way for Europe to remain independent, strong, and free,” emphasized CEO Badik.

– “Mirova’s support will enable GreenWay to continue its ambitious plans to expand the charging network in the Central and Eastern Europe region and provide services of the highest quality. Furthermore, it represents an incentive for further improvements in GreenWay’s operations, aiming to build potential for continuous growth. Personally, it gives me great pleasure to see that years of dedicated work by the entire GreenWay team have led to the arrival of a new and strong investor, despite challenging market conditions,” said GreenWay CEO Rafał Czyżewski.

Rafał Czyżewski, who led the business in Poland, will become the group CEO responsible for the overall operations of the GreenWay group and, together with Lukasz Gaffling as CFO, will form the Management Board, which will be led by founder and chairman Peter Badik.

GreenWay had Rothschild & Co as its exclusive financial advisor, AKF Legal, WKB, Wozniak Legal, and Athena Legal as legal advisors, and Deloitte for the seller’s financial due diligence.
