The EU project ‘Revitalization of the Veli Lošinj Spa Center through Digital and Green Transition’ is progressing, valued at nearly 2.5 million euros, of which 84 percent is co-financed by non-repayable funds from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.
By the end of June, the reconstruction and equipping of the Park IV facility, the construction of a photovoltaic power plant, the procurement of electric vehicles, and the introduction of ECOLABEL, ISO 50001, and ISO 14001:2015 certifications are planned. The project includes the digitalization and robotization of operations and the creation of at least four new jobs, while promoting the employment of vulnerable groups, especially those with education.
– In addition to putting into operation the previously neglected facility, the project represents a significant step towards green transition for us. Through energy management and energy renovation of the facilities, we will reduce overhead costs, and by digitalizing, we will improve the accessibility of our services to users and facilitate the work of employees – emphasized the director of the Veli Lošinj Spa Renata Žugić at the project’s opening conference.
The event was attended by the Deputy Prefect of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County Marina Medarić, the Mayor of Mali Lošinj Ana Kučić, and the relevant county head Vesna Čavar. It was also emphasized that the Spa will develop a new tourist product primarily oriented towards the months outside the main season.
