A branch of the Dutch company Marktlink, specialized in mergers and acquisitions (M&A), has opened in Zagreb, marking the nineteenth Marktlink office in Europe, but the first in the Adriatic region, which will be entirely covered from Zagreb. There are fewer than ten such companies operating in the Croatian market, and even fewer are willing to focus on M&A transactions in the small and medium-sized enterprise segment, which is, on the contrary, the focus of Marktlink. Given that it is estimated that approximately one in four family business owners in Croatia is considering selling their company due to the inability to secure a successor, Marktlink will certainly not lack work.
As stated by partner at Marktlink Niek Derks, the company has been searching for strong professionals to lead its offices in new countries across Europe for some time, and it was fortunate with the Adriatic region as such a professional offered himself. This is Dino Bendeković, who has over 25 years of experience in mergers and acquisitions in the USA and Europe, including the CEE region. He has extensive experience in transactions and roles within industrial, service, tourism, healthcare, distribution, ICT, transport, and other sectors. Before collaborating with Marktlink, he worked for nine years as the head of M&A at the multinational company Grant Thornton Northern Adriatic.
