The Ministry has issued two bonds worth three billion euros

The Ministry of Finance has reported that it successfully completed the issuance of bonds maturing in 2027 in a nominal amount of 1.75 billion euros and bonds maturing in 2030 in a nominal amount of 1.25 billion euros.

As they emphasize, the bonds maturing in 2027 were intended not only for the institutional market but also for citizens, specifically in the first round of subscriptions from February 26 to March 5 at 11 a.m. During this period, interested citizens had the opportunity to subscribe through the network of branches of the Financial Agency and through the digital platform of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Croatia for securities E-riznica.

A total of 18,507 citizens subscribed for 590.5 million euros of bonds maturing in 2027. The subscription book for institutional investors for the bonds was opened on Thursday, with total interest from institutional investors amounting to 4.83 billion euros, including 2.54 billion euros for the bonds maturing in 2027 (in the second round of subscriptions) and 2.29 billion euros for the bonds maturing in 2030, the Ministry stated.

The issuance of bonds maturing in 2027 was realized with a yield to maturity of 2.65 percent and an equal annual interest rate, while the bonds maturing in 2030 will offer investors a yield to maturity of 3.05 percent and an annual interest rate of 3.00 percent.

– In the context of global market volatility, the Republic of Croatia has once again confirmed its status as an attractive issuer based on very strong investor interest and successfully concluded the transaction on the domestic capital market. The net proceeds from the bond issuance will be used to refinance existing obligations and finance budget expenditures – stated the Ministry.

The listing of the bonds on the Official Market of the Zagreb Stock Exchange is expected by March 11, and the leading agents of the issuance were Erste & Steiermärkische Bank d.d., Hrvatska poštanska banka d.d., OTP banka d.d., Privredna banka Zagreb d.d., Raiffeisenbank Austria d.d., and Zagrebačka banka d.d.
