Marin Hrešić is the new president of the Association of Investment Funds of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce

At the meeting of the Association of Investment and Pension Funds of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce, Marin Hrešić, CEO of Eurizon Asset Management Croatia, was elected as the new president of the Association by a majority vote. The Association brings together management companies for open-end investment funds with public offerings (UCITS), alternative investment funds, mandatory and voluntary pension funds, and pension insurance companies.

– I thank all my colleagues for their trust; I will perform this function in the best interest of our industry. I also thank the outgoing president for his dedication. I believe that funds in Croatia deserve much greater visibility and trust due to their usefulness for the entire community. Together, with the help of all stakeholders, we need to engage even more in promoting financial literacy and thus encourage a more conscious approach to investing – said the newly elected president of the Association, Marin Hrešić.

The meeting of the Association of Investment and Pension Funds of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce also discussed the Draft Proposal of the Strategic Framework for the Development of the Capital Market in Croatia 2025 – 2030 and the Action Plan for the period 2025-2026, in which representatives of the Association have participated and contributed from the very beginning.

Reflecting on the activities of the past year, the contribution of the Association in bringing funds closer to young people and entrepreneurs and raising financial knowledge in society was particularly highlighted, participation in the work of the European association EFAMA, and successful cooperation with regulators, primarily in the development of the Strategy for the Development of the Croatian Capital Market.

At the end of January this year, the total net assets of 117 UCITS amounted to 3.3 billion euros, and more than 304 thousand citizens held shares in these funds. In Croatia, there are also 43 alternative investment funds, two more than in the same period in 2024.

The total number of members in 29 voluntary pension funds at the end of January was 468,641, while their net assets amounted to 1.5 billion euros. In the same period, mandatory pension funds had more than 2.3 million members, and their net assets amounted to 23.8 billion euros.
